Griffith Wins Jim Mahon Memorial Trophy

Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith picked up some OHL hardware this week winning the Jim Mahon Memorial Trophy, which is annually awarded to the league’s top scoring right winger.

In 54 games this season, Griffith had 33 goals and 48 assists. Griffith accomplished his feat despite missing 14 games this season, mostly due to a broken arm he suffered in the final weeks of the OHL’s regular season.

Griffith’s London Knights finished first overall in the OHL. They were the only team this season to collect 50 wins and 100 points, finishing with 105.

London starts their OHL playoff run against the Saginaw Spirit. Last season, the Knights won the OHL championship with Griffith, a fifth round draft pick of the Boston Bruins, scoring the championship goal.

Past winners of the Jim Mahon Memorial Trophy include Patrick Kane, Corey Perry, Owen Nolan, Ray Sheppard, and Dino Ciccarelli.
