Griffith Signs NHL Entry Level Contract With Boston
Boston drafted the London Knights veteran last season in the fifth round of the NHL Priority Selection draft, 131st overall.
Griffith scored 33 goals and added 48 assists this season in 54 games before breaking his arm. Griffith returned to the London Knights after missing a month of action for their first round playoff series, which they swept the Saginaw Spirit.
London and Griffith are now facing the Kitchener Rangers in round two of the OHL playoffs, a year after Griffith scored the OHL Championship goal, sending his team to the Memorial Cup.
Griffith is London’s nominee for the OHL’s Most Outstanding Player Award, and was the league’s top scoring right winger.
The signing would allow Griffith to join Boston’s AHL affiliate if the London Knights were eliminated from the playoffs early.
