Hawks, Patriotes Sweep
The Chatham-Kent Secondary School Golden Hawks, and Pain Court (ESPC) Patriotes both swept their senior soccer matches Monday, taking home wins on the men’s and women’s sides.
At CKSS, Jesse Chinnick, Keisha Cato, Brooke Armstrong and Sydney Gagner scored for the Golden Hawks as they shutout the John McGregor Panthers 4-0. Brittney McLaren picked up the shutout in net for CKSS.
On the men’s side, Jake Fancy scored a hat trick for the CKSS Golden Hawks as they shutout John McGregor 6-0. Brandon Foster also had a multi-goal game, scoring twice, while Sanaam Memon had the other Golden Hawks goal. Tristen Allen picked up the win in goal for CKSS.
In Pain Court, Cassandra Faubert scored twice to lead the ESPC Patriotes to a narrow 2-1 win over the Wallaceburg Tartans. Faubert broke the tie game with less than two minutes to play to lift her team to victory. Abbey Broad scored Wallaceburg’s goal in the losing effort.
Curtis Lemieux, Andre Pinsonneault, and Kyle Parry spread out the Pain Court offense on the men’s side, as ESPC defeated Wallaceburg 3-2. Brayden Fischer scored both Wallaceburg goals.
