Carleton, Canada Win Opener at FIBA Americas
Chatham’s Bridget Carleton helped the Canadian Under 16 Women’s National Basketball team roll over Venezuela in the opening game of the FIBA Americas.
Carleton was 4-for-6 shooting, scoring 10-points as one of six Canadians to hit double digits in the lopsided 94-23 win for Canada.
Carleton, who will enter grade 11 at John McGregor Secondary School next year, also added 2 rebounds and 4 assists for Canada.
Named a co-captain for the team, Carleton and Canada will play Puerto Rico on Thursday and Mexico on Friday to round out pool play.
