From friends to enemies, it’s as simple as putting a different jersey on your back. That’s what has happened for three Wallaceburg Minor Lacrosse alumni, as they’re doing battle in the OLA Junior A playoffs.

Wallaceburg residents, Zack Herreweyers of the Peterborough Lakers, and Jordan Durston and Joel Shepley of the Six Nations Arrows are currently entrenched in a second round OLA playoff match, with Six Nations holding a 2-1 series lead, something Herreweyers is trying to single handedly undue.

In Wednesday’s game three, Herreweyers scored a goal per period, including the game winner with 4 seconds remaining in the game, which ended 8-7. Jordan Durston had an assist for Six Nations in the loss, giving the Wallaceburg Red Devils alumni at least one point in each game this series, totalling 8 goals and 6 assists in 7 playoff games. Durston was the Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League, Western Conference MVP this season while starring for the Wallaceburg Red Devils.

Joel Shepley, who captained the Wallaceburg Red Devils this season, and was the Western Conference Defensive MVP before joining Six Nations, has suited up for 4 playoff games with the Arrows, and recorded an assist in game 1, a 7-5 Six Nations win against Peterborough.

Games 4 and 5 will take place Saturday in Peterborough and Sunday in Six Nations.
