Canella Running at International Games

Chatham’s Quinn Canella will represent Team Windsor-Essex at the upcoming International Children’s Games from August 14-19 in Windsor, Ontario.

Canella, who will be entering grade 10 next year at Chatham-Kent Secondary School, is the reigning Kent Cross Country and Track (1500m and 3000m) champion. Canella won an antique bronze at OFSAA cross country in the midget boys division, and was the SWOSSAA champion in the 3000m and 1500m en route to an OFSAA bronze in the 1500m, and a 4th place finish in the 3000m.

He will be running the 1500m and relay events at the Games.

Canella is also a member of the Windsor Legion Track and Field club, and has run internationally for Canada at the Giochi Della Gioventu Games in Italy in both 2011 and 2012.

More than 1,500 athletes from 12-15 years old from roughly 40 countries, will attend this highly regarded, multi-sport, international sporting event.
