Cyclones Impressing At Spitfires Camp
Two players from the Chatham-Kent Cyclones Minor Midget team last season are making noise at the Windsor Spitfires camp, as the OHL team kicked off their main camp this week at the WFCU Centre.
Playing for Team Renaud in the camp, Cyclones sniper Drew Marlatt scored in the opening scrimmage of the camp, helping his squad defeat Team Julien 5-4. Fellow Cyclones alumni Brendan Johnston made 15 saves in the win.
The following game, another 7-6 win for Team Renaud over Team Quenneville, Johnston again split time in the net for the win.
Both players have also seen time this week with the Chatham Maroons Junior B team in preseason action. Marlatt was held scoreless in his lone game. Johnston collected a win, and an overtime loss with a 2.57 GAA and .909 save percentage.
