Lozon, Clements Take First Checkered Flags Of Season
Two local drivers, Grande Pointe’s Tyler Lozon, and Chatham’s Louis Clements each took home their first feature wins of the season.
Lozon took the checkered flag in the Windride Transportation Sport Stocks, edging out Essex’s Doris Lajuenesse and Wallaceburg’s Willy Vyse, who all avoided the wreck, less than 100 feet from the finish line, of then leaders Eren Vanderiviere and Steve Shaw.
Clements won the Schinkels Gourmet Meats UMP Modified feature, defeating Michigan’s Clayton Smith and Jeff Daniels of Merlin.
In the UMP Late Models, Ridgetown’s Dale Glassford continued his strong season, taking the victory. Crossing the line after Glassford were Mike Lewis of Wallaceburg and Brad Authier of Chatham.
Rob Quick was the night’s winner in the Tirecraft Mini-Mods, holding off Larry Hart of LaSalle, and Dresden’s Matt Sorrell who were second and third respectively.
The growing Bombers division was won by Chatham’s Chris Ellerbeck.
