Chatham Maroons Add All-Star Ferguson
The Chatham Maroons were looking for a way to get better, and they did so by acquiring fifth year veteran defender Tanner Ferguson.
Ferguson, who comes over from the Lambton Shores Predators in exchange for cash, played in both the GOJHL All-Star game, and GOJHL Western Conference All-Star game last season, when he scored 39 points in 45 games from the blueline.
The acquisition of Ferguson, who is in his final year of Junior hockey as a 20-year-old, does create a log jam on the Chatham Maroons’ blueline, as Chatham now has 9 active defensemen on their roster, and are expected to send one of their defenders to a local Junior C team.
Ferguson joins a crew of former Lambton Shores Predators on the Maroons, as Chatham has also acquired Kyle Brothers and Connor Annett this season, and also feature Mark Davis, who was Lambton Shores’ head coach last season.
Chatham faces the very same Lambton Shores Predators on the road this Saturday, October 19, before hosting first place LaSalle Sunday at Memorial Arena.
