Thamesville’s Dane Fox is sending a message to the rest of the OHL, and he’s leading his Erie Otters to wins in the process.

The undrafted overage player currently sits third in OHL league scoring with 18 points in 10 games. Fox has 9 goals and 9 assists, and is on pace to crush his personal bests.

Monday, Fox was named the game’s first star as his Erie Otters beat the Mississauga Stealheads 7-0 on the road. Fox scored the first two goals of the game, which resulted in the game winning goal for the Otters.

Erie, used to spending the season dwelling the OHL’s basement, currently sits second in the Midwest Division behind only London, after bounding out to an impressive 7-2-1-0 record to start the 2013-2014 OHL season.

Fox’s teammate, Connor Brown, a Toronto Maple Leafs draft pick, is currently leading the OHL in scoring with 22 points in 10 games, and was recently named the OHL’s player of the week. The Otters also have two other players, future NHL first rounder Connor McDavid, and Washington Capitals draft pick Andre Burakovsky in the top 20 of OHL scoring.

Erie next faces the Belleville Bulls, Friday, October 18.
