The Chatham-Kent Secondary School Golden Hawks Junior girls basketball team captured the tournament title at Strathroy Disctrict Collegiate Institute this past weekend.

This is CKSS’ second tournament championship this season.

In their opening game, the Golden Hawks defeated host Strathroy 47-30. Loren Koluk scored 13-points, while Logan Kucera had 10 and Brittany McLaren netted 9-points in the win.

CKSS then defeated London Banting 50-25 with Jana Kucera leading the charge with 10-points. Lauren Ball had 9- and Logan Kucera had 8 points.

Facing London Oakridge in the Championship game, CKSS dominated yet again, walking away with a 57-38 victory for the tournament title. Jana Kucera scored a tournament high 16-points in the championship game, while Loren Koluk scored 12. Logan Kucera scored 8, while Brittany McLaren and Brooke Mackinnon each had 6-points.
