Kellier’s Take Cross Country Titles

CKSS-Golden-Hawks1The Kent County High School Cross Country Championships were held Wednesday at Blenheim Community Golf Course.

The Chatham-Kent Secondary School Golden Hawks captured the overall Kent team title, paced by brother-sister duo Josh Kellier and Rayne Kellier. Josh won the senior boys 7km race by over a minute, clocking in at 23:07. Justin McNamara of Chatham Christian was second.

Rayne Kellier won the Junior girls division, edging out John McGregor’s Ashley Jackson and teammate Miah St. Pierre with a time of 14:57 over the 4km race.

CKSS’ Quinn Canella, who ran at OFSAA last year, again won his division, claiming the Junior Boys title, crushing the competition by nearly 3-minutes over 6km. Malcolm Mussa of Blenheim was second.

In the remaining divisions, Georgia Bayliss of Wallaceburg won senior girls, Cameron Dufault of UCC won the Midget boys race, while Ridgetown’s Alli Oliphant won the midget girls race.
