Net Gains In Senior Hoops
Tuesday night featured big gains, and big scores by some schools across Kent County as the Junior and Senior Girls high school basketball league’s continued.
In Senior, John McGregor’s Bridget Carleton topped all scorers with 25-points, helping her Panthers improve to 5-1 this season as they beat CKSS 68-24. Devyn Demars had 13-points for JMSS, while Kelsey Nydam topped CKSS scorers with 12-points.
Alyssa Lucier paced the Wallaceburg Tartans to a win over the rival UCC Lancers, 39-25. Lucier scored 12-points, while Haley Sarapnickas had 9. Lindsay Elliott scored a game high 13 for the Lancers in the loss.
At the Single ‘A’ level, several players had strong individual nights. Meredith Goldhawk and Hope Long each scored 20-points for the Ridgetown Royals in a 47-28 win over Tilbury. Morgan Monroe had 15-points for Tilbury in the loss.
Amy Bultje had 18-points for Chatham Christian, as they edged Blenheim 54-43. The Blenheim Bobcats were lead by Hailey Newham, who scored 19-points.
Finally, Paige Johnston had 17-points in a losing effort for Lambton-Kent, as the Cardinals fell 44-41 to Pain Court. Pain Court received 15-points from Krystine Goodison and 14 from Danielle Lucier.
At the Junior level, CKSS beat John McGregor 54-16, UCC defeated Wallaceburg 44-18, and Lambton-Kent downed Pain Court 45-15.
