Novice Cobras Shutout Opponents

MPj038720200001The Kent TekSavvy Cobras Major Novice AA team had a busy weekend, shutting out their opponents in a trio of games.

Friday, the Cobras opened against Essex, playing 0-0 scoreless hockey until the third period. In the third, Colton Graham scored an unassisted marker that would stand as the game winner. Aidan Wheeler then added an insurance goal with 4:24 remaining, assisted by Rorey Elson, and Maclean Norris.

Kent continued their winning ways on Saturday, keeping Belle River off the board by an equal 2-0 margin. Colton Graham took a feed from Aidan Wheeler to score his second game winner in as many nights, potting the opening goal of the game in the first period. In the third, Declan Waddick scored again for the Kent Cobras, capping off the 2-0 win. Jacob Vancoille picked up the shutout in both wins for Kent.

Sunday, the Kent Cobras enjoyed an offensive outburst, blasting LaSalle by a score of 9-0. Graham and Wheeler opened the scoring in the first with assists going to Austin Drew and Ryan Holly. In the second period, Holly scored his first of the weekend before Rorey Elson scored a pair of goals. Drew, Waddick, and Braden Twigg added assist.The third period saw familiar scorers as Graham, Holly, Drew, and Waddick all got on the board, with assists going to Brenden McKay, Logan Houle, and Karter Koopmans. Carson Nogueira posted the shutout in the third game of the weekend for the Kent Cobras.

The Kent Cobras Novice AA team are back in action next weekend.
