Tartan Dynasty
In modern sports, it’s nearly impossible to be named a dynasty. The Wallaceburg Tartans Senior Boys football program however, has earned the moniker after completing their third straight undefeated season in Kent football.
Wallaceburg finished off their perfect regular season Friday defeating the UCC Lancers 25-6. Marc Kellet, Simon Yazbeck, and Kevin Kellet scored Wallaceburg’s touchdowns, while Josh Avery-Scott had UCC’s touchdown.
Wallaceburg has won the last two Kent and SWOSSAA football titles, and will look to continue their championship run, as they face the CKSS Golden Hawks this week in their semi-final game.
The Golden Hawks are peaking at the right time. After losing their first games of the season by a larger margin, CKSS improved each game, culminating in their first win of the season in their final game, a 14-7 decision over the John McGregor Panthers.
Jake Lindley scored both CKSS touchdowns, while Jake Anderson had the Panthers’ TD.
John McGregor will face the UCC Lancers in the other semi-final this week.
The Kent Championships will take place November 9.
