Dan Van Moorsel is the owner of Chatham’s Maple City Squash Club.

Van Moorsel, 39, who also enjoys cycling, is a Humber College graduate, originally from Niagara-On-The-Lake, opened the Maple City Squash Club last year on Hart Place in Chatham, following the decommission of Chatham-Kent’s last squash courts at the old YMCA.

Below are Dan Van Moorsel’s answers to CKSN’s Five Questions:

1. What is your career sports highlight/top memory?

Finishing my first “Paris to Ancaster” Bike Ride. Google it, it is one of the most difficult bike rides in Ontario.

2. Who is your favorite professional sports team and athlete?

Detroit Lions – team, Jonathan Power – squash pro, athlete.

3. If you could achieve one thing/goal in sports, what would it be?

Bicycle around Europe, no race, just Km’s.

4. Who has been your biggest sports influence and why?

John Fleury – Squash Pro – Irish Champion/Club Pro in St. Catherines. He taught my family the game of squash. Not only how to play, but how to be a good sport/opponent and that there is a very social side to sports.

5. What do you love most about playing sports?

When you are into it, really into it…takes your mind off everything else in the world.
