Hawks Twice As Golden
Over the weekend in London, Ontario, the Golden Hawks did something few schools can do, repeating as the OFSAA champions, winning gold in a thrilling final match over Oakridge Secondary School.
CKSS took set one over Oakridge, 25-20, before Oakridge came back in set two winning 25-23. Not to be outdone however, the Golden Hawks came back and took set three 25-23. After Oakridge won the fourth set 25-21, a final, deciding fifth set was required to decide the Ontario champion.
With points going back and forth, Chatham-Kent Secondary School battled out a tight 15-13 victory.
CKSS did not lose a match in the tournament, going 4-0 in pool play, not dropping a single set until the final. CKSS defeated Jacob Hespeler in the quarterfinal, and Lisgar in the semi-final, before beating Oakridge for their second straight gold.
