High School Hockey Drops The Puck
The KCSSAA girls and boys high school hockey schedule kicked into full swing in the second week of November, with several Chatham-Kent schools dropping the puck.
Wednesday, the Chatham-Kent Secondary School Golden Hawks beat the John McGregor Panthers 3-1 in boys action. After CKSS got goals from Eric Oulds, Sam MacPherson, and Josh Hachey, McGregor’s Ian Jenner scored with only two seconds to go to snap CKSS’ shutout. Golden Hawks defenseman Devin Ouimet also picked up two assists in the game.
Monday in the girls’ opener, Ursuline College defeated Wallaceburg 6-0. UCC got goals from Lauren Nicholson, Madison Lalonde, Hannah McEachran, Amber Lumley, Katreena Whiteye, and Delaney Taylor.
Dresden also got a start on their title defense Monday in boys action, handing the JMSS Panthers a 3-1 loss. Stats were not submitted for this game.
The boys schedule resumes next Monday with CKSS visiting Ridgetown and JMSS facing UCC.
CKSS travels to Wallaceburg Thursday, before traveling to Ridgetown next Monday in girls action.
