Chatham-Kent Sports Year in Review: March

With high school sports back up and running, hockey playoffs on, and college sports coming to a close, March was filled with highs and lows from the Chatham-Kent sports world.

Here are some highlights from sports in Chatham-Kent for March, 2013.

• Allin Named Canadian All-Star: After being named an OUA all-star in February, Chatham’s Max Allin added to his basketball honours by being named a CIS Canadian second team all-star.
• Ontario does away with soccer scores and standings: Minor soccer in Ontario does away with scores and standings for youth soccer, sparking debate and anger from many.
• Crawford McKinlay to play NCAA golf: Ridgetown’s Crawford McKinlay commits to play NCAA golf for Wayne State University.
• Maroons Headed to Final: The Chatham Maroons won their second straight GOJHL series to advance to the GOJHL Western Conference final against the London Nationals.
