Lakers Keep Winning
Wallaceburg won for the fourth time in their last six games, defeating the Dresden Kings Wednesday night, 3-2 in Wallaceburg.
Dresden’s Derek Daly opened the scoring, but Justin Lindsay answered back for the Lakers less than a minute later.
After neither team scored in the second, new acquisition James Shelton put Dresden ahead for the second time in the game. Holding a 2-1 lead until the 15:00 minute mark of the third, Wallaceburg received a pair of goals from Justin Whitson to put the Lakers ahead, and secure the win.
Ryan Gruszka and Scott Lubbers assisted on both of Whitson’s goals in the third period. Joel Sowinski was again spectacular in net for the Lakers, stopping 37 of 39 shots he faced.
Wallaceburg plays in Wheatley this Saturday, and in Blenheim this Sunday before breaking for the Christmas holiday.
