The Blenheim Blast Swim team travelled to the Canada Games Aquatic Centre in London last weekend to compete in the 12 & Under Celebration Cup.

Gracin Black dominated the 9 year old boys’ Breaststroke , winning both the 100m and 200m events. Gracin won the 100m Breast in a time of 1:53.28, and swam a personal best time 4:02.87 in the 200m Breast event. Gracin was also second in the 50m Back (53.54), and third in the 200 I.M. (4:02.19). He also placed fourth in the 50m Fly and fifth in the 100m Free. Linnea Mattsson also topped the podium in the 8 & under girls’ 50m Breaststroke in a time of 56.49. Linnea was also second in the 50m Fly (55.79), seventh in the 50m Back, and tenth in the 50m Free.

12 year old Grace Hansen celebrated her final 12 & Under Cup with four podium finishes, placing second in both the 50m Free ( 31.30) and 100m Breast (1:29.20). Grace was third in the both the 100m Fly (1:21.92) and 200m Breast (3:20.82), and placed fourth in both the 100m and 400m Free events.

10 year old Emma Pegg finished third in the 50m Breast in a time of 50.34, and just missed the podium finishing fourth in the 50m Fly. (42.59). Emma was seventh in both the 100m and 200m Breast events, and placed ninth in the 100m Fly. Other top ten finishers include Morgan Anderson, Holly Reynolds and William Reynolds. 6 year old Zadie Zunnen was the team’s youngest participant at the meet.
