Van Herk’s Sweep Medals At WOSA Championships
14-year-old Brendan Van Herk took home 3 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals at the championship meet , while his sister Shania (17) took home 1 silver, and four bronze medals. Brendan won Gold in each of the 100m Back (1:03.90) , 200m Back (2:17.21) and 200m Fly (2:21.22) events. Brendan won silver in the 50m Back (29.39) and won bronze in both the 100m and 200m Breaststroke events, and in the 100m Fly. Brendan also finished sixth in the 50m Breast.
Shania Van Herk won silver in the 16 & over women’s 100m Back in a time of 1:05.47. Shania also won bronze in each of the 50m Back (30.77) and 200m Back (2:21.92) events. She also won bronze in the 50m Fly (29.75) and 200m Fly (2:30.49) events. Shania was also fifth in the 200m Free.
14-year-old Rain Pfaff qualified for finals in eight events, finishing fourth in the girls 100m Back (1:12.35). Rain was fifth in both the 50m Fly (32.57) and 100m Breast (1:23.06). She was sixth in each of the 50m Back and Breast events and 200m Backstroke , seventh in the 50m Free and tenth in the 200m Breast. River Pfaff celebrated his seventeenth birthday at the meet, qualifying for three finals in the 16 & over men’s events, finishing fourth in the 200m Breast (2:43.93) River was seventh in the 100m Breast (1:14.59), and eighth in the 50m Breast (34.06) events. 12 year old Grace Hansen had six top ten results at the meet, finishing sixth in the 12 year old girls 100m Free (1:09.04) . Grace was seventh in the 100m Breast (1:30.74), and eighth in each of the 50m and 100m Fly events and also in the 50m Free. Grace finished ninth in the 50m Breast.
