After a strong start to his professional career, Blenheim’s Brett Vandehogen was released by the Central Hockey League’s Brampton Beast.

Vandehogen had gone pointless since January 7 when he scored against St. Charles.

His last game was January 26, a 4-3 win over Quad City.

Vandehogen finished his first stint in the CHL with 5 goals and 2 assists in 37 games.

Last season Vandehogen captained the Windsor Lancers of the OUA.

Wallaceburg’s Jamie Vanderveeken remains on the Brampton Beast roster and is having a strong season offensively with 2 goals and 28 assists in 44 games, which places him third in league scoring amongst defenseman.
