Blenheim Novices Are OMHA Champions
From winning the Essex Early Bird Tournament in September, through to the OMHA title in March, Blenheim’s Novice Rep entry enjoyed a dominant season, one that will be memorable, not only for their accomplishments, but also because it will be Blenheim’s last independent OMHA title, as the organization plans to merge with Ridgetown next season.
After winning the first two games by lopsided margins, Tuesday’s game was no different.
In the deciding game, the Blenheim Novice Reps beat Twin Centre 5-2, paced by multi-point games from Brayden Degelas and David Brown.
Brown opened the scoring, scoring twice, before Degelas scored a hat trick to cap off Blenheim’s scoring. In total, Brown finished the game with 2 goals and 2 assists, while Degelas had 3 goals and an assist.
Kolby Caughy chipped in with 2 assists in the win, while Braydon Segeren also had an assist.
The win marked Blenheim’s first Novice OMHA title since 2002.
