The Chatham Maroons had their eight game playoff streak snapped in game one of the GOJHL Western Conference Final against the Leamington Flyers.

After playing a tight, back and forth game, the two teams needed overtime to decide the game. Leamington managed to score the winner just over six minutes into the extra frame when David Dalby buried one past Chatham netminder Jacob Keogh.

To open the game, Alex Seguin scored the only goal of the first, putting Leamington up 1-0 after one.

In the second, Kyle Brothers, making his return from injury, scored from Michael Verboom and Adam Arseneault to tie the game.

Opening the third, Brothers scored again from Verboom and Arseneault, before Ian Faubert scored to put the Chatham Maroons ahead by two.

Chatham however, couldn’t hold the lead. Dalby and Nathan Opblinger scored to tie the game at 3-3 and send it to overtime where Dalby would seal the victory.

Game two is Friday night in Chatham. Puck drop is 8pm, the box office opens at 5pm.
