Raaymakers, Philips Invited To OHL Combine
The combine is an opportunity for teams to test the fitness, evaluate skills, interview, and learn more about the province’s top 68 draft prospects.
Raaymakers, considered one of the top goaltending prospects in the country after being invited to the All-State All Canadian NHLPA Mentorship Camp this past summer, was a statistical leader in the Alliance this winter, participating in the Alliance All-Star game, and serving as the backbone to Chatham-Kent’s run to the OHL Cup semi-finals.
Philips, a towering defenseman who stands 6’4″ won an Alliance title this winter with the Waterloo Wolves. Moving to Fergus early in his playing career from Chatham, Philips is considered one of the most improved defensemen in the Province, and was a physical force on the Wolves blueline this season.
The OHL Combine features 16 goalies, and 80 skaters from Ontario and the USA, who will go through off ice testing by Sport Testing, on ice games, and educational seminars. Results from the event will be sent to OHL general managers and scouts, for use in the selection process during the OHL Draft which takes place April 5.
