Three Ballhawks Win Silver At Ontario Winter Games

Three local members of the Chatham Ballhawks Under 16 Boys Volleyball Team won Silver at the Ontario Winter Games in Midland, Ontario, with the tournament taking place from February 27 to March 2.

Trevor Everitt, Dawson Gehl, and Pierce Johnson competed as part of the Region 3 West Team. Everitt and Johnson are Chatham-Kent Secondary School students, while Gehl attends Ursuline College.

The Region 3 West team placed first after two days of pool play, and continued their winning streak up to the Gold Medal Game where Region 5’s Black Team defeated them 25-11, 25-21.

Region 3 West and the trio of Chatham athletes made the final by defeating Region 1 25-12, 25-16 in the quarter-finals, before edging Region 3 East 25-19, 24-26, and 15-11 in the semi-finals
