Wallaceburg’s Brady Pataki has been selected by the Sudbury Wolves in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection Draft.

Pataki was chosen in the 4th round by Sudbury with the 65th overall pick.

“It was such a relief, it’s a great feeling,” Pataki said about being drafted. “Sudbury is a great team and I’m excited.”

Pataki climbed into the top 20 in scoring at the OHL Cup with his Chatham-Kent Cyclones Minor Midget ‘AAA’ team, opening the eyes to many scouts, with his 8 points in 6 games at the premier showcase tournament in Ontario.

During the regular season, Pataki, who hails from Wallaceburg, had 5 goals and 8 assists in 31 games. Improving as the season went on, the hulking 6’1″, 210 lbs. forward topped all Chatham-Kent scorers with 13 goals in 18 playoff games.

Playing a power forward style, Pataki was also selected midseason to represent the Cyclones at the Alliance Hockey All-Star game in Komoka.

Pataki is a part of a sporting family, as his older brother Jonah Pataki was named to the OUA All-Rookie team as a member of the Queens University football time, while his oldest brother Ben Pataki, has played for the Chatham Maroons Junior B hockey team over recent seasons.
