Chatham’s Brendan Harrogate has been selected in the 2014 OHL Draft by the Mississauga Steelheads.

“Very exiting to see my name pop up and just felt so honoured to be selected by the Steelheads,” Harrogate said shortly after being taken in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection Draft.

Taken in the 7th round of the OHL Priority Selection Draft, 128th overall, Harrogate was one of the leading scorers this season for the Chatham-Kent Cyclones Minor Midget ‘AAA’ team, which advanced to the semi-finals of the OHL Cup.

In 17 playoffs games, Harrogate topped all Chatham-Kent scorers with 11 goals and 12 assists, good enough for first overall in Alliance Hockey playoff scoring.

In 32 regular season games with the Chatham-Kent Cyclones, Harrogate tied for the team lead with 22 points, collecting 9 goals in that time.

A grade ten student at Chatham-Kent Secondary School, Harrogate also played five games for the Junior B Chatham Maroons this season.
