Thamesville’s Dane Fox has been named an Ontario Hockey League First-Team All-Star for the 2013-2014 season.

Fox finished second in the OHL in scoring this past season after starring for the Erie Otters. He finished the season with 64 goals and 43 assists for 107 points in only 67 games, behind teammate and Otters’ captain Connor Brown, who was also named an OHL First-Team All-Star.

In 14 playoff games this year, Fox compiled 8 goals and 11 assists.

The League’s Overage Player of the Year, Fox was also named the OHL Player of the Month in November 2013.

Signed to an NHL free agent contract by the Vancouver Canucks midseason, Fox was joined, along with Brown, on the OHL’s First All-Star team, by Barrie Colts captain Aaron Ekblad, Oshawa Generals forward Scott Laughton, Slater Koekkoek of the Windsor Spitfires, and goalie Alex Nedeljkovic of the Plymouth Whalers.

Fox received 83 voting points, behind only Brown and Ekblad.
