Myers Has Hot Hand In Red Devils Win
Wallaceburg’s Mike Myers had the hot hand Wednesday night for the Wallaceburg Red Devils in OLA Junior B Lacrosse League action, as his Red Devils downed the Point Edward Pacers 14-7.
After beating the Pacers 18-5 Sunday, Wallaceburg took no time striking against Point Edward again Wednesday.
Myers led the charge scoring three goals and adding six assists for nine points in the absence of leading scorer Jordan Durston.
“No Durston, so Myers had to lead and he did,” said Red Devils head coach Jamie Knight.
Evan Mathany had three goals and two assists, while Corey Lucier had two goals and four assists, and Mitch Gagnier scored a hat trick.
“Mathany is having a solid season,” continued Knight. “Lucier is starting to pour it on and is putting up great rookie numbers. Lots of offense from a young lineup tonight so I’m proud of that.”
Wallaceburg also got two goals from Parker Gihuly, and a goal from Kyle Dawson in the win.
The Red Devils are also expected to make a major announcement regarding player movement in the coming days.
Wallaceburg will travel to play the Elora Mohawks this Saturday at 7pm, before hosting the Pacers Thursday June 5 in Wallaceburg.
