Tartans Are The Team To Beat

footballThe Wallaceburg Tartans football team improved to 3-0 in Kent Junior Football action Thursday defeating the UCC Lancers.

Jermaine Caldwell scored two rushing touchdowns, from 85- and 48-yards, while Marcus Hubert had the other Wallaceburg major in the victory. Ross Kreiger scored the only touchdown for the UCC Lancers.

In Blenheim, Ashton Baker caught and ran in two 50 plus yard touchdowns for the Blenheim Bobcats, to lead them to a 32-6 victory over the CKSS Golden Hawks.

Cody Weiburg and Tanner Shuian had the other Blenheim touchdowns.

Liberty Rountree had CKSS’ touchdown, catching a pass from Golden Hawks quarterback Nolan Ball.

In senior boys soccer, the CKSS Golden Hawks beat Chatham Christian 4-1 with goals from Brandon Foster, Tyrone Mulder, Nick Ladd, Dede Cato. Jarrod Kloostra scored the lone CCHS goal. Wallaceburg also picked up a win, 5-4 over Pain Court lead by Brayden Fischer’s hat trick. Spencer Heubach and Casey McGee also scored for Wallaceburg, while Benjamin Bruhlman, Jean-Claude Couture, and Matt Hansen (2) had Pain Court’s markers.

In senior girls action, CKSS beat Ridgetown 8-0, UCC shutout John McGregor 3-0, and Wallaceburg beat Pain Court 5-0.
