After making several player acquisitions this week, the Wallaceburg Red Devils relied on young faces to take a 13-8 win over the Point Edward Pacers Thursday.

Without any of their new players in the lineup, as well as an absence of captain Joel Shepley, and offensive juggernaut Jordan Durston, the Red Devils got big contributions from Mitch Gagnier and Emily Van Damme to help pick up an important win.

Gagnier scored six goals for Wallaceburg in the win, his largest career output. Van Damme, playing in her first complete Junior game, made 24 saves to pick up the win in net.

Mike Myers, the team’s leading scorer, played set up man all night picking up four assists, while Kyle Dawson had two goals.

Other Wallaceburg goal scorers included Corey Lucier, Ryan Noel, Neil McInroy, Evan Mathany, and Drake Brown.

Wallaceburg improves to 9-5 this season and will play two out of division games this weekend, Saturday on the road against the St. Catherines Spartans, and Sunday in Wallaceburg at 4pm against the Hamilton Bengals.
