Off To The Races On Canada Day

Racing is back at Dresden Raceway for the 2014 season, and this year the schedule will kick off as part of the community’s Canada Day festivities, with the races getting underway July 1.

This season will mark the first that the Dresden Agricultural Society will take over the track as owner-operators. For the past many years, Dresden Raceway was operated by WINRAC, the same organization that ran Windsor Raceway.

The ONtario Racing Commission announced they would be running 11 live harness racing dates at Dresden Raceway for this season, beginning Canada Day, July 1, and running until Labour Day Weekend, September 1.

All races, as they have traditionally, will be run Sunday afternoons with the exception of the Civic holiday in August, and Labour Day in September, when racing will be help on the holiday Mondays.

Post time for July 1 is 1pm.
