Red Devils Take Game One

Wallaceburg-Red-Devils-JerseyHeading to hostile territory to open their 2014 OLA Junior B playoff run on the road, the Wallaceburg Red Devils took game one against the Windsor Clippers.

Wallaceburg took game one decisively by an 11-6 score.

“Big win tonight on the road,” Red Devils head coach Jamie Knight wrote CKSN. “We played pretty solid and I think Noble was big when we needed him,” the coach added about goaltender Noble Jacobs who faced 42 shots.

“Lots of work ahead but obviously a great start,” continued Knight. “Nine different scorers tonight on our gamesheet, is always a plus for a coach. Need to fill our barn and take care of business on Saturday.”

After a strong first game, Wallaceburg is asking fans to fill Wallaceburg Memorial Arena Saturday for game two at 8pm, and for fans to wear red.

Thursday, Neil McInroy had two goals and an assist, while Evan Mathany also scored twice. Connor Smith and Dan Charlton each had a goal and two assists, while Mike Myers played set up man collecting three assists.

Also scoring for Wallaceburg in the win were Kevin Conroy, Mitch Burton, Parker Gilhuly, Mitch Gagnier, and Brandon Burr.
