The Chatham Diamonds Minor Mosquito baseball team took home the championship title at the Oakridge Invitational over the weekend.

The Chatham Diamonds went a perfect 5-0, including a 19-0 final win over the Stratford Indians. Pitcher Trent Stephenson left no margin for error in the final, throwing a complete game no-hitter for the win. Ayden Blain, Kurt Countryman, and Hunter Myers hit home runs in the final.

In their four lead up games, the Minor Misquito Diamonds kept their opponents at bay in each game.

Facing the London West Tincaps Rep, Chatham won 12-6, with Alex Chickowski and Jacob Williams each collecting two hits, and Owen Reeve swatting a triple. Ayden McKinlay and Reeve collaborated on the pitching duties, striking out 11 hitters.

Playing the Stratford Indians in round robin play, Ayden McKinlay had a double and single, and Alex Chickowski and Tevin Kelly had singles to lead the Diamonds to a 15-3 win, with Ayden Blain and Bobby McKinlay handling the pitching duties.

Chatham racked up the runs against the London West Tincaps (Select), winning 19-6, with Trent Stephenson, Kurt Countryman and Dominic St. Amand hitting triples, and Ayden Blain crushing a two-run homer. Tevin Kelly and Jacob Williams pitched in the win.

To open the tournament, Chatham took a 19-1 decision over the Kitchener Panthers. Ayden Blain, Jacob Williams and Tyler Ewald has two hits each, while Ethan MacDonald pitched a complete game no-hitter.
