Trent Fox Signs With OHL’s Erie Otters
“I am excited about the opportunity to play with the Erie Otters,” says Fox. “I am relieved to have finally signed.”
Fox, a former Chatham-Kent Cyclones product, spent last season playing for Ridley College after being drafted in the 5th round, 80th overall by the Erie Otters in 2013.
“I am looking forward to developing in Erie and glad that I am with a great organization,” continued Fox. “My hard work is paying off, but I know that this is just a step. I need to keep working twice as hard now so I can prove that I deserve a regular shift.”
Fox, who has been working all summer with Athletes’ Fuel Strength & Conditioning in Chatham, as well as strength training with Zach Butler, and working with skating coach Lori Gunn, will open training camp August 26, with preseason games beginning August 30 against the Mississauga Steelheads.
Fox’s brother Dane Fox graduated from the Erie Otters this year, as the OHL’s Overage Player of the Year. He signed midseason with the NHL’s Vancouver Canucks, and will have a chance to make their NHL roster this Fall.
