Mosquitos Win OBA Gold For Chatham Diamonds

The Minor and Major Mosquito Chatham Diamonds, both had some sting to their bats, and their pitches over the weekend, as each team captured an Ontario Baseball Association gold medal.

In Stratford, the Minor Mosquitos, pictured above, capped off Labour Day Weekend with a 17-7 win in the gold medal game against the tournament host Stratford Indians. The win gave the Chatham Diamonds the OBA ‘A’ gold.

Not to be out done, the the Major Mosquito Chatham Diamonds also won an OBA title, at the ‘B’ level, at home in Chatham. Also facing the Stratford Indians, the Major Mosquitos took the gold medal game 14-4.

The Major Mosquito Diamonds proved they are a dynasty in the making, as this age group has won three consecutive OBA titles for Chatham at the Rookie, Minor Mosquito, and now Major Mosquito level.
