Seth Griffith Cut From The Boston Bruins
“Little bit more time to be working on his game and he’s gonna be knocking at the door,” Bruins coach Claude Julian said of Griffith following his release.
Griffith was among 11 players the Bruins assigned to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Providence Bruins.
Earlier in the weekend, Griffith, who had been playing on the Bruins’ top two lines through the preseason, scored a pair of goals for Boston during a 5-4 overtime loss to the Washington Capitals.
Griffith, who scored 20 goals last season with the Providence Bruins as a pro rookie, will undoubtedly be in competition for a call up to Boston this season if injuries arise.
Griffith and the Providence Bruins will open their 2014-2015 AHL season October 10 at home against St. John’s.
