Annually one of the toughest cross country meets in Ontario, Windsor’s Thrill On The Hill was held Tuesday, September 30 with dozens of Chatham-Kent runners in the field.

The CKSS Golden Hawks had a spectacular showing at the race with multiple teams and individual runners placing at the meet.

Delainey Johnson finished second in the Midget Girls race, running 3km in 12:19.4, in the field of 117 runners. Her CKSS team, which also included Maia Collins, Peyton Koole, and Kayla Norton, finished 5th.

In the Midget boys category, CKSS’ Cameron Ross finished 10th overall in a field of 73.

At the Junior girls level, UCC’s Joyce Bacic was 10th out of 115

Sydnye Gagnier was 5th in the senior girls 5km race, crossing the line in 20:34.8, with CKSS teammate Ally Oulds crossing only seconds later in 7th place. Miah St. Pierre was 13th, and Tess Scaman was 38th, helping their CKSS Golden Hawks Senior Girls team place 3rd.

Finally, in the senior boys 7km race, CKSS’ Josh Kellier and Quinn Cannella finished 2nd and 3rd respectively, while their team, which also included Scott Conrod, and Fareed Ahmad finished 4th.
