Delainey Johnson won the midget girls race, while Quinn Cannella won the senior boys race, as they only two local competitors to capture their divisions.

Both Johnson and Cannella had top ten finishes at the Pre-OFSAA meet last week, setting them up as contenders at SWOSSAA and to qualify for OFSAA this year.

Cannella’s senior boys team also won the team title, with Josh Kellier coming in second, followed by Scott Conrod in 8th, and Cai Kellier in 17th.

Johnson’s midget girls team was second to Northern, a team paced by Caroline Forbes, who has beat Johnson multiple times this season, however finished 3 seconds behind the CKSS runner Wednesday at LKSSAA. Her team consisted of Peyton Koole, Kayla Norton, and Maia Collins.

The Chatham-Kent Secondary School senior girls team also captured their division title, led by grade 12 Sydnye Gagner, who finished 2nd, who was followed closely by Ally Oulds, a grade 10 who moved up to the senior division, finishing third, and grade 11 Miah St. Pierre, who was fourth. Their other teammate, Rayne Kellier was 8th.

The top 10 teams, and top 30 runners in each division will now compete at SWOSSAA, next Wednesday, October 22 at Canatara Park in Sarnia, Ontario.
