The fight, held as a part of the Professional Fighting Championships promotion, improved Gross’ pro MMA record to 10-4.
He took the fight by a split decision, 29-28 over Justin Jaynes in what was considered the co-main event of the evening.
“It is likely this could very well be the last time this kid, representing Wallaceburg, Ontario, straps on the gloves and steps into the cage,” Jesse Gross told CKSN prior to his fight.
“It’s been an extremely hard and emotional decision for me to make, but I’m without a doubt nearing the end of the road as a professional fighter.”
Nicknamed “The Ghost,” Gross has been fighting professionally for six years.
