Novice Outlaws Ace It In Stratford
The Outlaws defeated the Woodstock Wildcats 6-1 in the final to capture the tournament title.
Chatham stormed out of the gate, opening the tournament with a 9-0 win over the host Stratford Aces. Fiona Waddick scored a hat trick in the win, while Jordin Whiteye had two, and Meghan Fifie, Libby Pink, Savana Smith, and Hudson Denure scored singles.
Hunter Escott and Ryan O’Donohue shared the shutout in net, splitting each game of the tournament.
In their second game of the tournament, Chatham suffered their only loss of the tournaments to the Woodstock Wildcats 3-2, a loss they’d avenge in the tournament final. Fiona Waddick, assisted by Addison Arnold, and Ally Fisher, assisted by Jeanette Legere.
Chatham bounced back in game three of the tournament defeating the Lambeth Lancers 6-1. Waddick continued to dominate the scoresheet filling the net with four goals in the game. Smith and Denure were the other scorers for the Chatham Outlaws.
Playing the Mitchell Meteors, Chatham came up with yet another win in what would serve as a tune up for the finals, beating the Meteors 4-1.
Waddick had a hat trick in the win, with Jeanette Legere scoring the other Outlaws goal.
In the finals, facing the Woodstock Wildcats again, the only team to defeat the Outlaws, Chatham came out flying, and scored early and often en route to a 6-1 victory.
Fiona Waddick, Savana Smith, Emily Debrouwer, Jeanette Legere, Meghan Fife, and Analise Legere scored in the win, while Smith, Waddick, Brooke McCutcheon, Lilly Fisher, and Jordin Whiteye had assists.
