Saturday, November 29th marks the 5th annual RBC sports day across Canada. Taking place from coast to coast, this national celebration promotes the power of sport to build community and get Canadians moving.

The Chatham Y Pool Sharks are proud to be celebrating this day with a fun swim competition featuring local celebrities, media personalities and RBC employees with a “Are You Faster Than A 3rd Grader” swimming competition. The event is open to the public and is a way to highlight the importance of sports and healthy living for youth, and will take place at the YMCA of Chatham-Kent.

The Chatham Y Pool Sharks will be wearing their team uniforms to school on Friday November 28th to raise awareness of RBC sports day in Canada. The Chatham Y Pool Sharks invite youth involved in other team sports to do the same.

The Chatham Y Pool Sharks are proud to be a 2014 recipient of the RBC “Learn to Play Program” grant and will be receiving the cheque in a presentation on Sat Nov 29th at 8:30am at the Chatham YMCA. Further details on the grant to follow.

“We are very grateful to RBC for their Learn to Play Program grant to support our local swim team. We have totally enhanced our programming for the 2014-2015 season thanks to this local injection of funds,” said Dan Arbour, President of the Chatham Pool Sharks.

The Chatham Pool Sharks are a Division 2 Club and currently have nationally ranked swimmers on the team, as well as many provincial and regional-level qualifiers. This is in addition to the developmental programs offered for younger swimmers. For more information about the Chatham Pool Sharks visit www.chathamypoolsharks.com.
