The Chatham Maroons have named former assistant coach Tyler Roeszler their new head coach following the dismissal of Mark Davis.

Below is the Maroons’ press release:

“The Chatham Maroons announced today that Head Coach and General Manager Mark Davis has stepped down from his position with the team. Davis cited increasing work demands which made it difficult for him to fulfill his commitment to the team and his employer. As a result, the Maroons have accepted Davis’s resignation effective immediately.

Assistant coach, Shawn Tiffin, was offered another position within the organization, but has asked to be released from his coaching responsibilities. The Maroons have also accepted his resignation effective immediately.

The Maroons have promoted Tyler Roeszler to Head Coach for the remainder of the season. He was previously the team’s associate coach in charge of the forwards and video.

The Maroons have added Jeff MacDougald to the staff as assistant coach. Jeff who lives in Dover Centre, played goalie in the OHL for Peterborough and Sarnia before starting for Wilfred Laurier of the CIAU from 2006 to 2010. Most recently Jeff was an assistant coach with Wilfred Laurier from 2010 to 2013.

The Chatham Maroons will be releasing no further statements on these coaching changes. The Maroons return to the ice on Thursday, November 27th, 2014 at 7:10 PM in Sarnia where they will take on the Legionnaires.
