Clachan’s Travis Konecny will suit up alongside the top NHL draft eligible players in the CHL in the BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game. The game is scheduled for January 22 in St. Catherines, Ontario.

Konecny will play for Team Orr at the game. He’ll be surrounded by a number of talented forwards including top prospect Connor McDavid of the Erie Otters, and Kingston Frontenacs forward Lawson Crouse.

After a slow start to the OHL season, Konecny, who was named the captain of the Ottawa 67s this season has picked up his production in recent weeks and now has 19 goals and 22 assists for 41 points in 42 games.

Scouts have Konecny slated to go in the mid to late first round of this year’s NHL Draft. He is currently ranked 26th on NHL Central Scouting’s Midterm Rankings.

Konecny, of Clachan, and a former Chatham-Kent Cyclones forward, is the first Chatham-Kent player to play in the Top Prospects game since 2012 when Thamesville’s Dane Fox participated in the game.

The NHL Draft will take place June 26-27 this year in Sunrise, Florida.
