The CKSS Golden Hawks and UCC Lancers both bowed out of the SWOSSAA volleyball finals Thursday night, ending the season for the senior girls teams.

CKSS lost in 4 to Villanova 25-22, 25-18, 24-26, 25-22 in the ‘AAA’ final.

According to coach Elish Smith, her team’s youth showed, but also showed promise for the future.

“With only three returning players facing an experienced Villanova squad we showed our youth and inexperience,” said Smith.

“The girls finally got into a rhythm but a little too late – as coaches we are certainly happy that they left their hearts on the court,” added smith, who also mentioned graduating players Hunter Medd, Julie Earle, Jessica Chinnick, Cassidy Emery, and Danielle Reaume.

The UCC Lancers also had their season end in 4 games to Holy Names, falling 25-17, 18-25, 13-25, 22-25 in the ‘AAAA’ game.
