Hawks “Sweep” LKSSAA Curling Finals
In the girls’ semi-final, CKSS defeated Wallaceburg 7-6, while Ridgetown edged UCC 7-6 to set up a championship match.
The final saw Chatham-Kent take the first ever LKSSAA title 7-3. CKSS’ team consisted of Erin White, Taylor Dziver, Jordan Dziver, and Kara Hueniken.
On the boys side, CKSS defeated UCC 10-1, while John McGregor beat Northern 7-4 in the semi-finals to set up an all Chatham LKSSAA final.
In the final, Chatham-Kent Secondary School managed to edge John McGregor, who were the reigning Kent champions, 6-5.
CKSS’ boys team was composed of Aiden Poole, Noah Link, Tye Juniper, and Devon Weese.
Both CKSS Golden Hawks team will now advance to the SWOSSAA curling finals, which will also be held in Blenheim, February 27.
