Jordan Carr Commits To Windsor Lancers Soccer Program

Windsor-Lancers-SoccerChatham’s Jordan Carr will be staying in Windsor next season, as the soccer player has committed to play OUA soccer for the University of Windsor Lancers.

Carr, who has played travel soccer in Windsor with the Eastside Kickers since she was 11-years-old, is excited to join the Lancers roster next season, and begin her post secondary education.

“I chose Windsor for next year because their Human Kinetics program is ranked one of the highest in Canada,” explained Carr, who has also played soccer with the UCC Lancers, where she attends high school. “As for soccer, the University has a very experienced and knowledgeable coaching staff that I’m eager to learn from. As a player, it’s also exciting as I get the opportunity to continue playing with current teammates such as Daniela Valente, Paiten Stephens, and Keely Baggio who is also from Chatham.”

Carr’s Eastside Kickers teammate Sydnye Gagner, is another Chatham product to commit to a University program, as Gagner signed her National Letter of Intent to play NCAA Division I soccer with Oakland University this week.

While soccer is a focus for Carr, she also hopes to excel in the classroom at the University of Windsor, where she’ll be studying Human Kinetics, with the eventual goal of a career in physiotherapy or occupational therapy.

“My goal is to be successful both on and off the field, which allows me to get a good education while continuing to play soccer at a high level,” explained Carr.

Although Carr’s athleticism and skill are what got her to this point, she understands there have been many people helping her on her journey.

“I would like to thank my coaches Frank Amante and Rob Palombo for helping me grow as a player and giving me the opportunity to be where I am today,” says Carr of her Eastside Kickers coaching staff.

“Also, all my teammates who have been my family for the past years and have helped push me to become a better player. I would not be where I am today without these amazing girls. As well, I’m extremely grateful for my parents. Their constant support and dedication to drive me to Windsor and other tournaments when need be have made a huge impact on where I am today.”

Last season the Windsor Lancers finished fourth in the OUA’s West Division with an 8-7-1 record. Windsor’s training camp and preseason begins in August, with the OUA season beginning Labour Day weekend.
