Lancers Finish LKSSAA Hockey Season Perfect

The UCC Lancers girls hockey team finished their 2014-2015 LKSSAA regular season with a perfect 8-0 record after defeating the Ridgetown Royals 7-2 Monday night.

UCC’s top line of Madison Lalonde, Lauren Nicholson, and Sydnee Baker were again dominant, with Lalonde picking up a goal and two assists, and Nicholson scoring a goal and an assist. Baker had a single goal.

Keely Baggio also had a three point afternoon, scoring and adding a pair of assists. UCC also got goals from Katreena Whiteye, Olivia Pomajba, and Amber Lumley. Krisinda Wegrzyn chipped in with a pair of assists.

Meredith Goldhawk scored both goals for the Ridgetown Royals in the losing effort.

UCC will next face Sarnia St. Patricks in a LKSSAA ‘AAA-AAAA’ semi-final game. The winner of that game will play the winner of the other semi-final, which is between Sarnia Northern and Chatham-Kent Secondary School.
